A 22-year-old woman from San Fernando died when the car she was in collided with a van on the South Truck Road.
Police say the accident occurred around 11:30 last night at the intersection of Alice Street. The driver of the van said a blue Hyundai Accent broke the red light. He slammed into the left side of the car sending both vehicles into the metal barriers at the side of the road.
Police say the victim identified as Kerissa Maria Mary Dowrich from St Vincent Street San Fernando died at the scene. Police say even though she was found in driver's seat they haven't determined if she was the driver.
Two passengers who were in the Accent were taken to the San Fernando General Hospital. Two passengers in the van were also taken to the hospital for treatment.
