A 23-year-old man ap­peared be­fore an Ari­ma Mag­is­trate last week charged with the mur­der of Joel Caleb, which oc­curred on April 29.

Maleek Gilbert, who hails from Five Rivers, Arou­ca, was charged with the of­fence when he ap­peared in the Ari­ma First Mag­is­trates’ Court, on Mon­day May 8.

The mat­ter was ad­journed to June 5.

Caleb, 41, of Tumpuna Road, Ari­ma, was found dead in the Heights of Gua­napo, Ari­ma, on April 29.

One male sus­pect was ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the mat­ter on May 1.

Gilbert was charged with the of­fence by PC Ram­di­al, al­so of HBI Re­gion Three, on May 5th, 2023, fol­low­ing ad­vice re­ceived from the Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions, Roger Gas­pard SC, on that same date.
