A 23-year-old man was shot and killed in Cou­va last night.

He has been iden­ti­fied as Shevon Lazarus of Cal­cut­ta Set­tle­ment #2, Freeport.

Lazarus was at the home of a 27-year-old pie ven­dor at Emer­ald Dri­ve, Roys­to­nia, along with three oth­er men, when the in­ci­dent oc­curred.

Po­lice said the group was about to leave around 10 p.m. when a masked gun­man en­tered through the front door and opened fire, shoot­ing Lazarus.

One of the men re­port­ed­ly jumped through a win­dow and ran to safe­ty.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors have not yet iden­ti­fied a mo­tive for the killing.

Homi­cide de­tec­tives are con­tin­u­ing en­quiries.
