Several exercises on Thursday and Friday resulted in the seizure of one homemade shotgun and a quantity of marijuana. Twenty-eight persons were also arrested for various offences.
Southern Division Task Force (SDTF) officers conducted an anticrime exercise on Thursday between 3 pm and 7 pm which concentrated on the Area East of the Southern Division.
Around 6 pm, during a search of a bushy area about 100 feet off Sookhan Trace, Barrackpore, they found a black plastic bag containing 3 clear plastic bags of 1.62 kilogrammes of cannabis.
Exercises conducted in the Division the following day resulted in the arrest of three persons for possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and possession of ammunition. A 25-year-old man was also arrested in a separate exercise for Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking.
All four were conveyed to the SDTF Base in Marabella to be charged for the offences.
Meanwhile in the Central Division, three persons, all from Mission Road Freeport, were arrested for Possession of Marijuana for the Purpose of Trafficking. The arrests took place during an anti-crime exercise on Friday morning in the Freeport Police district.
A 29-year-old woman was arrested for Larceny Dwelling House on Friday during the execution of a search warrant at a home on La Mercedes Trace, Talparo.
Officers allegedly found and seized a quantity of gold jewellery which was reported stolen on October 11, 2023.
Operation Blue Line exercises were conducted in the South Western Division yesterday in the Penal Police district between 4 am and 10 am. During the exercise, 14 illegal immigrants were arrested and conveyed to the Chaguaramas Heliport. Three persons were also arrested for Possession of Cannabis.
Arrests for Possession of Cannabis continued in the Eastern Division as well with one Sangre Grande man being arrested for the offence during the execution of search warrants for dangerous drugs yesterday evening. Six trees were allegedly found along with a quantity of cannabis. An Oropouche man was also arrested for the offence during the exercise.
In an exercise earlier that morning in the Mayaro district, a 37-yearold man was arrested for Possession of Ammunition.
Officers of the North Central Division Task Force (NCDTF) – Area East, continued Operation Blue Line exercises between 11pm yesterday and 2 am this morning, during which they received information regarding a man along St. Michael Road, Tacarigua placing a long object in a bushy area. Officers proceeded to the location and allegedly found one long black wood and metal homemade shotgun.
