Sev­er­al ex­er­cis­es on Thurs­day and Fri­day re­sult­ed in the seizure of one home­made shot­gun and a quan­ti­ty of mar­i­jua­na. Twen­ty-eight per­sons were al­so ar­rest­ed for var­i­ous of­fences.

South­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force (SDTF) of­fi­cers con­duct­ed an an­ti­crime ex­er­cise on Thurs­day be­tween 3 pm and 7 pm which con­cen­trat­ed on the Area East of the South­ern Di­vi­sion.

Around 6 pm, dur­ing a search of a bushy area about 100 feet off Sookhan Trace, Bar­rack­pore, they found a black plas­tic bag con­tain­ing 3 clear plas­tic bags of 1.62 kilo­grammes of cannabis.

Ex­er­cis­es con­duct­ed in the Di­vi­sion the fol­low­ing day re­sult­ed in the ar­rest of three per­sons for pos­ses­sion of mar­i­jua­na for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing and pos­ses­sion of am­mu­ni­tion. A 25-year-old man was al­so ar­rest­ed in a sep­a­rate ex­er­cise for Pos­ses­sion of Co­caine for the Pur­pose of Traf­fick­ing.

All four were con­veyed to the SDTF Base in Mara­bel­la to be charged for the of­fences.

Mean­while in the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion, three per­sons, all from Mis­sion Road Freeport, were ar­rest­ed for Pos­ses­sion of Mar­i­jua­na for the Pur­pose of Traf­fick­ing. The ar­rests took place dur­ing an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise on Fri­day morn­ing in the Freeport Po­lice dis­trict.

A 29-year-old woman was ar­rest­ed for Lar­ce­ny Dwelling House on Fri­day dur­ing the ex­e­cu­tion of a search war­rant at a home on La Mer­cedes Trace, Tal­paro.

Of­fi­cers al­leged­ly found and seized a quan­ti­ty of gold jew­ellery which was re­port­ed stolen on Oc­to­ber 11, 2023.

Op­er­a­tion Blue Line ex­er­cis­es were con­duct­ed in the South West­ern Di­vi­sion yes­ter­day in the Pe­nal Po­lice dis­trict be­tween 4 am and 10 am. Dur­ing the ex­er­cise, 14 il­le­gal im­mi­grants were ar­rest­ed and con­veyed to the Ch­aguara­mas He­li­port. Three per­sons were al­so ar­rest­ed for Pos­ses­sion of Cannabis.

Ar­rests for Pos­ses­sion of Cannabis con­tin­ued in the East­ern Di­vi­sion as well with one San­gre Grande man be­ing ar­rest­ed for the of­fence dur­ing the ex­e­cu­tion of search war­rants for dan­ger­ous drugs yes­ter­day evening. Six trees were al­leged­ly found along with a quan­ti­ty of cannabis. An Oropouche man was al­so ar­rest­ed for the of­fence dur­ing the ex­er­cise.

In an ex­er­cise ear­li­er that morn­ing in the Ma­yaro dis­trict, a 37-yearold man was ar­rest­ed for Pos­ses­sion of Am­mu­ni­tion.

Of­fi­cers of the North Cen­tral Di­vi­sion Task Force (NCDTF) – Area East, con­tin­ued Op­er­a­tion Blue Line ex­er­cis­es be­tween 11pm yes­ter­day and 2 am this morn­ing, dur­ing which they re­ceived in­for­ma­tion re­gard­ing a man along St. Michael Road, Tacarigua plac­ing a long ob­ject in a bushy area. Of­fi­cers pro­ceed­ed to the lo­ca­tion and al­leged­ly found one long black wood and met­al home­made shot­gun.
