Three suspects were arrested over the weekend as officers seized a firearm, cannabis, and contraband items during targeted anti-crime operations in the Southern Division.
A statement from the TTPS yesterday, said between 11.30 pm on Saturday August 30, and 2 am yesterday, officers conducted an exercise in the Ste Madeleine Police District.
After surveillance of several drug blocks, priority offenders, and local bars, police arrested a 19-year-old man for possession of a firearm and ammunition.
In another incident, between midnight and 3 am on Saturday, a residence at St Mary’s Village, Moruga, was searched, resulting in the arrest of two men.
A 38-year-old maintenance worker was charged with possession of 75.5 grams of cannabis and contraband items including alcohol and cigarettes, while a 24-year-old unemployed man was also arrested for possession of cannabis and contraband items.
