Some 47 new positive cases have been reported over the past 24 hours.  There are now 603 current active infections on the island.

That’s according to the latest update from the Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection, in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), dated Wednesday 11 May 2022.

The report shows that COVID-19 infections in Tobago continue to climb, even as previously infected people recover from the disease.

It notes some 18 people have been certified as recovered from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.  In addition, no new deaths have been recorded, and as such, the death toll remains at 266.

The most recent death on the island, an unvaccinated person, was reported over a week ago, on Sunday 1 May 2022.

The THA Health Division also is reporting that 16 people currently are hospitalised with COVID-19.  Eight of these patients have not been vaccinated at all against the disease, while seven patients have been fully vaccinated, and one person is partially vaccinated.

The Tobago COVID-19 update for 11 May 2022 says at present, the total number of people in Tobago who have recovered from COVID-19 since March 2020, now stands at 8,257.
