A po­lice ex­er­cise seek­ing to net fa­thers who did not sat­is­fy their fi­nan­cial oblig­a­tions to their chil­dren as per court or­ders, re­sult­ed in sev­en men be­ing ar­rest­ed af­ter they failed to pay more than $260,000 in child sup­port.

The af­fil­i­a­tion war­rant ex­er­cise was car­ried out in the Ari­ma dis­trict be­tween 6 am and 10 am on Oc­to­ber 12.

A to­tal of five men were ar­rest­ed while eight war­rants were ex­e­cut­ed.

The five in­clud­ed a 52-year-old from Marie Street, Mt Pleas­ant Road, who was ar­rest­ed for an out­stand­ing to­tal of $176,100.

A 37-year-old fa­ther of Thoma­sos Ter­race, Tedd Street, who owed a to­tal of $4,057.14 was al­so held. A 40-year-old of Lin­da Street, Cleaver Road, was held for ow­ing $3,400; while a fourth man of Or­ange Flats, was held for ow­ing $2,800.

A fifth man, of Cu­mu­to Main Road, Waller­field, was held on two af­fil­i­a­tion com­mit­ment war­rants to­talling $33,250.

And dur­ing a sec­ond rov­ing road­block ex­er­cise in the La Hor­quet­ta, San Raphael and Tal­paro ar­eas on Wednes­day by the same group of of­fi­cers, two peo­ple were ar­rest­ed on out­stand­ing war­rants.

A 40-year-old man from Tal­paro Main Road was held for ow­ing $29,050; while a 38-year-old from Brazil Main Road was held for ow­ing $21,600.
