Nine more peo­ple have died from COVID-19, push­ing up the na­tion­al death toll to 1,311 lives lost, ac­cord­ing to the lat­est up­date from the Min­istry of Health.

And in its up­date for to­day, Thurs­day 2nd Sep­tem­ber 2021, the Min­istry al­so re­ports that 104 peo­ple have test­ed pos­i­tive for the dis­ease, based on sam­ples tak­en be­tween Au­gust 29th and Sep­tem­ber 1st. 

The Min­istry says these new pos­i­tive cas­es mean that at this time, there are 4,050 ac­tive cas­es of COVID-19 in the coun­try, a drop from yes­ter­day’s fig­ures of 110 new cas­es and 4,223 ac­tive cas­es.

The to­tal num­ber of pa­tients re­cov­er­ing from COVID-19 al­so has gone up—from 39,432 peo­ple on Sep­tem­ber 1st, to 39,700 peo­ple to­day, Sep­tem­ber 2nd.

The na­tion­al vac­ci­na­tion pro­gramme con­tin­ues apace, with a to­tal of 404,221 per­sons hav­ing com­plet­ed a vac­ci­na­tion regime (name­ly, both dos­es of a two-dose regime and one dose of a sin­gle-dose regime).  Those who are par­tial­ly vac­ci­nat­ed—or who have re­ceived one dose of a two-dose regime—now stand at 513,448.

The Health Min­istry al­so notes in its up­date:

● 264 per­sons are still hos­pi­talised for COVID-19; down from 275 pa­tients on Wednes­day.

● 3,588 per­sons are in home self-iso­la­tion; down from 3,739 pa­tients on Wednes­day.

● 134 per­sons are in State quar­an­tine fa­cil­i­ties; up from 130 pa­tients on Wednes­day.

● 94 pa­tients are still re­cov­er­ing in step/down fa­cil­i­ties; down from 99 pa­tients on Wednes­day.
