A 91-year-old woman was robbed of $60,000 by a gun­man as she re­turned home af­ter with­draw­ing the mon­ey from the bank.

The el­der­ly woman re­port­ed that around 9:30 am on Mon­day, she went to Re­pub­lic Bank, at Cipero Street, San Fer­nan­do and with­drew the cash.

She placed the bills in a brown bag which she then put in her purse.

When she ar­rived at her San Fer­nan­do home in her car around 10:30 am, she was ap­proached by a man who opened the door and dragged her out.

As she screamed for help, the sus­pect snatched her purse with the mon­ey, sev­er­al cards and a Sam­sung A10 cell phone. He then ran off.

Po­lice of­fi­cers re­spond­ed and found her hand­bag on the side of the road near her home with the mon­ey miss­ing. In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing.
