A 37-year-old man was shot and killed following an argument between his friend and another man over visitation of their 11-month-old child.
Police said Andrew Morales, his girlfriend, and her child went to Marshall Trace, Cunupia, on Tuesday afternoon, where her ex-boyfriend, the child’s biological father, was expected to visit the infant.
During the visit, an argument erupted between the woman and the child’s father, who pulled out a gun and shot Morales before fleeing on a bicycle.
Morales was taken to the Chaguanas Health Facility, where he was declared dead at around 2.55 pm. Investigators said he was shot in the head, chest, and right side of his body.
Police said the bicycle believed to have been used by the suspect was returned to the scene by a Venezuelan man, who said it had been abandoned at a nearby bar.
Region III Homicide investigators are continuing enquiries.
