An argument over money led to a 38-year-old man being stabbed repeatedly in Siparia on Sunday.
Police said around 9.20 am, the victim got into an argument with a 19-year-old neighbour over money owed. The teenager stabbed him several times near his left eye, right forearm, right foot, stomach and the back of his head.
The victim was taken to the Siparia Health Facility and then transferred to the San Fernando General Hospital in a serious condition.
The suspect was arrested and taken to the Siparia Police Station. The suspect and victim are from Coora Branch Road, Siparia.

Cops probe cable theft
Meanwhile, police officers in Santa Flora are investigating the theft of cable from an oil company in Palo Seco.
Police said around 4.25 pm on Sunday, a security officer with Blanket Security, conducted a patrol at Lease Operators WDI, Field Location 619, in Palo Seco and everything appeared to be intact.
However, around 5.20pm, during his second patrol, he observed 300 feet of heavy-duty industrial cable, which were attached to three standing lights, missing.
Police were called in and PC John and WPC Graham visited scene.
