An Ari­ma man re­mained hos­pi­talised in a se­ri­ous con­di­tion yes­ter­day af­ter he was chopped by some­one he knows, whilst walk­ing on the road.

The 40-year-old of Mot­t­ley Trace, Pin­to Road, Ari­ma, was in the com­pa­ny of a fe­male rel­a­tive around 10 pm on Au­gust 6, when up­on reach­ing an aban­doned house along the road, a man known to them from the area, ran out with a cut­lass and be­gan chop­ping the vic­tim.

As the woman be­gan scream­ing, the as­sailant ran off.

Of­fi­cers of the North­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force North re­spond­ed and took the vic­tim to the Ari­ma Hos­pi­tal, where he was treat­ed for chop wounds to the head and right ear.

The vic­tim was lat­er trans­ferred to the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex, Mt Hope, as his con­di­tion grew in­creas­ing­ly se­ri­ous.
