An Ari­ma man was killed yes­ter­day morn­ing on his way to court for an at­tempt­ed mur­der charge.

Po­lice re­port­ed that Isa­iah Gar­cia was shot and killed while leav­ing his Recre­ation Street, Ari­ma Old Road apart­ment around 7.15 am.

A neigh­bour in­formed po­lice that the front gate to the apart­ment com­plex was opened just be­fore gun­shots rang out. Gar­cia was lat­er found on the ground bleed­ing.

Gar­cia, who had an an­kle mon­i­tor as a con­di­tion of his bail, was charged with the at­tempt­ed mur­der of a Cara­po cou­ple in 2021.

Orig­i­nal­ly from Sanchez Street, Ari­ma, and al­so of Sun­set Dri­ve Uni­ty Lane, Cara­po, Gar­cia was de­nied bail on first ap­pear­ance.

His killing pushed the mur­der toll to 65 for the year, ten less than the cor­re­spond­ing pe­ri­od last year.
