Three sus­pects have been ar­rest­ed, and three firearms and quan­ti­ties of am­mu­ni­tion and mar­i­jua­na were seized by of­fi­cers dur­ing on­go­ing an­ti­crime ex­er­cis­es overnight in­to this morn­ing.

In a me­dia re­lease to­day, the TTPS said an in­tel­li­gence-led ex­er­cise was con­duct­ed be­tween 8 pm on Sun­day 9th June 2024 and 4 am, on Mon­day 10th June 2024, in the South­ern and Cen­tral Di­vi­sions.

It said dur­ing the ex­er­cise, two male sus­pects, ages 23 and 24, of Ari­ma and Ch­agua­nas, were ar­rest­ed by of­fi­cers of the South­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force for pos­ses­sion of 53 kilo­grammes of mar­i­jua­na for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing.

Mean­while, of­fi­cers of the West­ern Di­vi­sion Gang and In­tel­li­gence Unit con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise be­tween 2 am and 7 am, to­day, dur­ing which they pro­ceed­ed to the Mar­aval dis­trict where a search war­rant was ex­e­cut­ed. Dur­ing the search, of­fi­cers found an AR-15 As­sault Ri­fle along with a Tau­rus pis­tol and an as­sort­ment of am­mu­ni­tion at a house along Pierre Street.

One male sus­pect was ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the finds.

And, in To­ba­go, of­fi­cers con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise around 11:50 pm, on Sat­ur­day 8th June, 2024, dur­ing which they pro­ceed­ed to Gov­ern­ment House Road.

There a search was con­duct­ed which re­sult­ed in one Glock pis­tol loaded with a mag­a­zine con­tain­ing 10 rounds of am­mu­ni­tion be­ing found hid­den in a cro­cus bag.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing in­to all of the mat­ters.
