For 20 years, CNC3 has lived its mantra — “We are, where you are.” Trusted by the nation as a leading source of news and information, CNC3 has stood firmly at the heart of Trinidad and Tobago’s story. From breaking developments that shape policy at the highest levels of society, to the everyday struggles and triumphs of ordinary citizens, CNC3 has brought truth, balance, and connection to every household. As a media house, its reach spans boardrooms and backyards alike, earning the trust of all. At 20, CNC3 reaffirms its commitment to being wherever the people are. In an age when independent, professional journalism is more important than ever before, the Association of Caribbean Media Workers (ACM) congratulates CNC3 on its 20th anniversary of quality news and entertainment.
The ACM commends this milestone and hopes the station continues to grow in strength, as Trinidad and Tobago, the region, and the wider world increasingly rely on decision-making based on sensible, clear, and accurate information, now threatened by growing mis and disinformation.
Globally, societies are grappling with a tidal wave of information competing for attention. Content production has become cheaper and more accessible, with many platforms encouraging users not only to consume but to create and share media.
While some contributions provide refreshing new perspectives, others have fuelled the spread of harmful misinformation. For media professionals, this means working harder to uncover truth and present it in the clearest, most dynamic formats possible.
Caribbean media houses, in particular, must harness the power of community and teamwork. Newsrooms represent communities of perspectives and experiences that enrich reporting and help erase blind spots.
Colleagues often serve as both sources and audiences, sharpening the relevance of content. This is a reminder that diverse editorial voices ensure broader coverage. Such collective strengths give newsrooms an edge over individual content creators working in isolation.
The ACM once again congratulates CNC3 on two decades of television excellence. The organisation looks forward to the station’s continued growth, and to its ongoing contribution to quality local content and credible news for the people of Trinidad and Tobago.
