The fate of a To­ba­go school­boy, who was pre­vi­ous­ly de­tained fol­low­ing the death of his el­der­ly rel­a­tive, re­mains un­cer­tain.

Po­lice have con­firmed that the au­top­sy on the body of 70-year-old Leon Scot­land, which was sched­uled for yes­ter­day, has been post­poned.

Se­nior Su­per­in­ten­dent Rod­hill Kirk told Guardian Me­dia that a new date for the au­top­sy has not yet been de­ter­mined.

Mean­while, a rel­a­tive of the 15-year-old stu­dent said the young foot­baller has re­turned to school af­ter miss­ing sev­er­al days last week while in po­lice cus­tody.

Last week, Sec­re­tary of Ed­u­ca­tion Or­lan­do Kerr said Stu­dent Sup­port Ser­vices (SSS) would en­gage the boy’s fam­i­ly and pro­vide coun­selling if need­ed, ahead of his rein­te­gra­tion in­to the class­room.

The rel­a­tive had pre­vi­ous­ly de­fend­ed the boy amid crit­i­cism on so­cial me­dia, in­sist­ing that the teenag­er was not a trou­ble­mak­er and de­scrib­ing him as jovial and fun-lov­ing.

The boy was de­tained by po­lice on Sep­tem­ber 6, one day af­ter an al­ter­ca­tion with Scot­land at their Ply­mouth home.

Po­lice said Scot­land was tak­en to Scar­bor­ough Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal for treat­ment but died the fol­low­ing day.

The school­boy was sub­se­quent­ly re­leased pend­ing the out­come of the au­top­sy.
