Of­fi­cers of the North-Cen­tral Di­vi­sion cap­tured a ban­dit min­utes af­ter he re­port­ed­ly robbed the El Do­ra­do out­let of KFC on Mon­day morn­ing.

Sources said that Tu­na­puna Po­lice re­ceived a re­port of a rob­bery in progress at the fast-food out­let on the East­ern Main Road, El Do­ra­do, at around 8:15 am, and went to the scene.

Of­fi­cers were told the ban­dit, who was armed with a gun, was wear­ing a black fish­er­man’s hat, green re­flec­tive vest, and a white face mask.

On ap­proach­ing the busi­ness place, of­fi­cers saw a man match­ing a de­scrip­tion of the ban­dit en­ter­ing a maxi taxi on the Pri­or­i­ty Bus Route.

Po­lice fol­lowed the maxi taxi and in­ter­cept­ed it. The ban­dit ran out of the ve­hi­cle and threw away the pis­tol.

Of­fi­cers caught up to him and ar­rest­ed him.

He was found with a quan­ti­ty of mon­ey and a Night and Day De­posit bag for Sports and Games.

He was al­so found with a grinder pow­er tool.

Po­lice said the ar­rest was part of height­ened pa­trols and po­lice ac­tiv­i­ty in the North-Cen­tral Di­vi­sion led by Snr Supt Vern­ly Gift and ASP Sunil Bharath.
