Po­lice are search­ing for a ban­dit who broke in­to two food carts and tried to steal items from the Ed­die Hart grounds food strip ear­ly on Mon­day morn­ing.

Po­lice said a grounds­man was at work around 1.30 a.m. when he heard a loud bang­ing noise.

On check­ing he saw a man walk­ing across the grounds with a gen­er­a­tor.

The grounds­man called a watch­man for help, who sub­dued the man.

They al­so no­ticed a cash reg­is­ter on the ground near­by.

The watch­man no­ticed that the door of a pop­u­lar jerk chick­en cart was bro­ken in­to and the door of a near­by burg­er cart was al­so tam­pered with.

As the men made the checks, the ban­dit man­aged to free him­self and run away.

A re­port was made to the po­lice and of­fi­cers of the Arou­ca CID and the North-Cen­tral Di­vi­sion Task Force vis­it­ed the scene but did not find the ban­dit.
