Bar owner, 9 patrons face $70,000 in safe zone fines

Nine pa­trons and an Ari­ma bar own­er were is­sued fixed penal­ty no­tices to­talling $70,000, af­ter be­ing found breach­ing a safe zone at a bar in Ari­ma.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, on No­vem­ber 26th, of­fi­cers of the North­ern Di­vi­sion Safe Zone Unit and an of­fi­cial of the Min­istry of Health re­ceived in­for­ma­tion that led them to a bar lo­cat­ed along Hol­lis Av­enue, Ari­ma.

Up­on ar­rival, the of­fi­cers dis­cov­ered un­vac­ci­nat­ed per­sons con­sum­ing al­co­hol on the premis­es. The nine pa­trons were fined $5000 each for fail­ure to com­ply with re­quire­ments for en­try in­to a safe zone un­der the health reg­u­la­tions. The own­er of the bar was is­sued with a $25,000 fine for fail­ure of own­er/oc­cu­pi­er to com­ply with re­quire­ments for en­try in­to a busi­ness.
