A 62-year-old Barrackpore man was beaten during a home invasion on Sunday.
Reports stated the man was in the kitchen of his home shortly after 8 pm when three masked suspects accosted him. One of them then struck him several times on his head,
causing him to cry out in pain. His 47-year-old wife was in the bathroom, when she heard his cries and ran to his assistance.
The suspects then forced the couple into their bedroom, and used a bedsheet to tie their hands and feet.
The bandits stole a black iPhone 10 valued at $1200, a black Samsung 10s cellphone valued $1300, a brown wallet containing $300, a quantity of gold jewellery and $800.
They escaped in the couple's white $39,000 Nissan AD wagon which was parked in their yard at GP Road.
The couple eventually untied themselves and went to the Barrackpore Police Station. Officers of the Southern Division Task Force and Barrackpore Police conducted inquires but none of the items were recovered and the suspects were not apprehended.
