The man who was gunned down in Bel­mont on Thurs­day morn­ing has been iden­ti­fied as Shaquille Per­reira, 26, of Up­per Bel­mont Val­ley Road, Bel­mont.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, around 6.50 am, sev­er­al gun­shots were heard at the cor­ner of Bel­mont Val­ley Road and St Fran­cois Val­ley Road Bel­mont.

Po­lice were called to the scene where they found Per­reira on the road nurs­ing mul­ti­ple gun­shot wounds. He died on the scene.

Of­fi­cers of the Homi­cide Re­gion One are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.
