The bod­ies of two Rio Claro men who dis­ap­peared at sea on Thurs­day, were re­cov­ered af­ter they washed ashore sev­er­al hours apart yes­ter­day.

Ish­mael Mo­hammed, 22, was found at Pineap­ple Cove, Blan­chisseuse, around 8 am on De­cem­ber 11 while the body of Richard Ram­lochan, 29, was found around 2.30 pm.

The in­clement weath­er did not ham­per search and res­cue ef­forts which had con­tin­ued through Thurs­day, Fri­day and Sat­ur­day and tears flowed from all present when the bod­ies of the two men were found yes­ter­day.

Mo­hammed and Ram­lochan were part of a group that had been va­ca­tion­ing at JTZ Vil­las, Paria Main Road, Blan­chisseuse.

They lived at Buck­et Cor­ner Old Road, Rio Claro.

The two, along with 23-year-old Aaron Mo­hammed, had de­cid­ed to go fish­ing at Damien Bay, Blan­chisseuse around 3 pm on De­cem­ber 9.

Short­ly af­ter they en­tered the wa­ter, the three got in­to dif­fi­cul­ty ow­ing to the strong cur­rents.

Aaron Mo­hammed was able to make it safe­ly back to shore, and al­though ef­forts were made to res­cue the oth­er two, they were swept out to sea.

On Fri­day, mem­bers of the Hunters Search and Res­cue group led by Val­lence Ramb­harat joined the re­cov­ery ef­fort and re­port­ed that search­es up and down the coast­line through­out Fri­day by the T&T Air Guard, had not been fruit­ful in lo­cat­ing the men.

Ramb­harat said foot pa­trols were al­so con­duct­ed dur­ing low tides, but that too, was un­suc­cess­ful.

He de­scribed the sit­u­a­tion as un­for­tu­nate and trag­ic.
