The decomposing body of a man was found at the Ministry of Agriculture, Land, Fisheries Surveys and Mapping Division Building at Wrightson Road in Port-of-Spain on Monday.
Police said the discovery was made by officers of the Central Police Station around 6.30 am on November 17, after an anonymous caller reported a foul stench was emanating from the old office which was supposedly locked.
Responding officers were granted access by the MTS officer on duty and discovered the decomposing corpse of an African male.
The unidentified man who was bare-backed with a rasta hair style, was clad in brown long pants alone.
There were no visible signs of violence about the body.
Police suspect he was homeless and had been staying in the building for some time now, but the public’s help is still being sought to identify him.
