A 32-year-old Borde Narve man suffered serious head injuries after he was attacked with a piece of wood during an argument with a villager.
Sometime after 2 pm on Monday the man was walking along Cipero Road, Borde Narve, when he stopped near the scale yard to talk to a neighbour.
The suspect, who lives in the area, accosted him and they began to argue. The suspect then struck the victim with a piece of wood, causing injuries.
The victim was taken to San Fernando General Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery for internal head injuries. He is warded in the Intensive care unit in critical condition.
A doctor told police the victim suffered a broken jaw, fractured skull and bleeding in the brain, and was heavily sedated.
