A 12-year-old boy re­mains hos­pi­talised af­ter suf­fer­ing in­juries when he was struck by a po­lice car.

The boy was rid­ing his bi­cy­cle in Tu­na­puna on Wednes­day when the in­ci­dent hap­pened.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, the po­lice ve­hi­cle was at­tempt­ing to en­ter the Tu­na­puna Po­lice Sta­tion com­pound at 12.30 pm.

The boy, po­lice said, was rid­ing his bike along the East­ern Main Road head­ing west when there was a col­li­sion.

In April of this year, a 13-year-old boy was in­jured in a col­li­sion with a po­lice ve­hi­cle while at­tempt­ing to cross the Pri­or­i­ty Bus Route in San Juan.

In that in­ci­dent, the 13-year-old was struck near the Croisee traf­fic lights in Aranguez.
He was hit by an un­marked Hyundai San­ta Fe which was be­ing dri­ven by a se­nior su­per­in­ten­dent of po­lice, who was lat­er charged with the of­fence and has since ap­peared in court.
