A teenage boy and his broth­er are dead, and a third man is in crit­i­cal con­di­tion at the hos­pi­tal, fol­low­ing a shoot­ing in Mt Hope, yes­ter­day af­ter­noon.

Po­lice iden­ti­fied those killed as broth­ers Jov­el Paul, 15, and Rod­ney Slater, 22.

The two were stand­ing in an open area along Mt Hope Ex­ten­sion, around 2.45 pm, with their cousin, when a car drove past and the oc­cu­pants opened fire on them

They were rushed to the hos­pi­tal, where the two broth­ers suc­cumbed to their in­juries min­utes lat­er.

Mean­while, po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the mur­der of a home­less man by an­oth­er street dweller in Wood­brook yes­ter­day morn­ing.

Of­fi­cers re­spond­ed to a rpe­ort of a chop­ping around 1.20 am at Gat­acre and Kitch­en­er Streets and found a home­less man bleed­ing from chop wounds.

He was tak­en to hos­pi­tal but died.

Of­fi­cers are search­ing for the at­tack­er.
