ANISTO ALVES

Days after Monday's fiery tragedy in which three young children were killed, several good Samaritans including a neighbour and M&M Insurance Services Ltd have come together to offer support to the Burke family who suffered unimaginable pain and loss.

And the surviving members of the family are said to be "grateful" and thankful for the support of the public.

On Monday, Ezekiel Burke 17, Faith Burke, six, and Kayden Burke, three perished when their home along Rookery Nooke was gutted by fire.

Guardian Media was told yesterday that M&M Insurance Services Ltd is the father's Troy Burke’s employer and have been rallying around him since the tragedy.

RBC’s Maraval branch, which is located near to the home, announced that monetary donations can be deposited into the following account:

Account Name: Donation Account-For Burke Family

Account #: 110000004490792 (chequing account)

Speaking with the Guardian Media on Wednesday, a neighbour Blayne Gomez said although they are still reeling with emotions over Monday's tragedy he and two of his friends came together and started up a donation drive for the family.

Gomez said because of the overwhelming response they received for the surviving family members, they are now focusing on contributions that can help the family rebuild a home.

"The response we got so far is overwhelming and we thank the public for their kindness that they have projected towards the family at this time but we are now looking for more financial help for them and furniture and appliances so whoever can assist in this way please feel free to do so."

He said the Burkes are aware of the support.

"The family is overwhelmed with the gratefulness and support and thanks the people who are helping," Gomez said.

Meanwhile, the interim report on Monday's deadly fire is now in the hands of the Chief Fire Officer, however, fire officials have not disclosed the preliminary findings as to what caused the fire and its origin.

Speaking to the Guardian Media also on Wednesday Chief Fire Officer Arnold Bristo confirmed that he did receive the interim report.

He, however, noted that the investigations final report is yet to be received.

Anyone willing to help the family can deposit funds into the RBC's account or contact Blayne 377 2019; Amanda 273 9358 or Dominique 725 1702.

During my consultation with Ms Brafit CEO Nicole Joseph-Chin, what was supposed to be a simple mastectomy bra fitting became something much deeper. Her thoughtful questions unlocked emotions I didn’t even realise I was holding in. She comforted, reassured, and helped me face the truth of what was coming. That bra wasn’t just clothing—it was the first real symbol of life after surgery.
