A car was set on fire with a body inside on a dirt track in Claxton Bay last night.
The identity of the victim was unknown up to a short while ago. The body was completely burnt, mostly just bones, police said.
Officers were on patrol in Debe when a passerby reported a car was on fire at Cedar Hill Road.
The officers got to the location around 9:20 pm and saw a Mazda 3 on fire. They contacted the Couva Fire Service.
When the fire was extinguished, the charred remains of a person was found in the back seat. At the time, investigators could not determine if the victim was male or female.
