A Carapo man was killed this morning after being lured out of his home by gunmen.
Shamar “Shami” James was shot on the roadway at Unity Lane, Carapo, Arima, around 6.45 am on April 8.
Reports indicate the 32-year-old was asleep when he was awakened by someone calling his name – and he emerged in his underwear alone.
It is alleged that gunmen then opened fire on James who collapsed on the road.
As James began crawling on his belly to escape his killers, it was reported the gunmen followed him and continued shooting.
Responding officers found him lying in a pool of blood.
An assortment of spent ammunition was found between where James was shot and where he eventually died.
