Local carrier Caribbean Airlines (CAL) has been named the Caribbean's Leading Airline Brand 2023 for the 7th time in a row beating out Bahamasair, Air Caraïbes, Cubana, and interCaribbean Airways. The announcement came at last evening’s Caribbean & The Americas edition of the World Travel Awards held at the Sandals Grand St. Lucian in St Lucia. It's the only category the airline came out on top in though with Bahamasair winning the Caribbean's Leading Airline 2023 award, and interCaribbean Airways winning the award for the Caribbean's Leading Cabin Crew 2023. Piarco International Airport was also nominated in the Caribbean's Leading Airport 2023 category, but the Sangster International Airport in Jamaica walked away with the top prize for the 14th time. Jamaica also won accolades as the ‘Caribbean’s Leading Destination’, as well as ‘Caribbean’s Leading Cruise Destination’ and ‘Caribbean’s Leading Tourist Board’.
Avis, Blue Haven Hotel, Presidential Suite @ Hilton Trinidad & Conference Centre, Island Experiences, and Amrals Travel were all winners in the Trinidad & Tobago category. Coco Reef Resort & Spa took home the award for Tobago's Leading Resort 2023. Coco Reef Resort & Spa has consistently won the award every year since 2004, Save for 2021, where Mount Irvine Bay Resort was named the winner.
