Kidnap victim Junior O’Connor was warded at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope last evening after he was found in Chaguanas yesterday.
Guardian Media was told that O’Connor was found in a bushy area in Longdenville by residents. He was said to be badly bruised and had to receive stitches to the head.
According to surveillance footage confiscated by police officers, O’Connor, a retired mason, was standing with a woman when a white four-door pickup stopped and a man got out and robbed the woman of her handbag.
The handbag contained her cellphone, bank cards and other documents.
When the woman ran away, the thief grabbed O’Connor and placed him in the backseat of the vehicle and drove off.
O’Connor is originally from Tobago but has been living in Central for the past 15 years.
Investigations are continuing.
