This hol­i­day sea­son, Caribbean Cin­e­mas will open the first 4DX au­di­to­ri­um in the Eng­lish-speak­ing Caribbean, which will be lo­cat­ed at South­Park Cin­e­mas in San Fer­nan­do.

The open­ing will be with the world­wide pre­miere of Star Wars: The Last Je­di on De­cem­ber 14.

In a re­lease from Caribbean Cin­e­mas on Fri­day, it said am­pli­fy­ing the ex­pe­ri­ence from watch­ing a movie to al­most be­ing in it, the new state-of-the-art au­di­to­ri­um will fea­ture the lat­est Hol­ly­wood re­leas­es.

Con­sid­ered to be one of the biggest in­no­va­tions in cin­e­mat­ic tech­nol­o­gy: 4DX en­hances the on-screen vi­su­als of ac­tion-packed block­busters, en­abling a com­plete­ly im­mer­sive event that tran­scends the tra­di­tion­al cin­e­ma ex­pe­ri­ence through spe­cial ef­fects in­clud­ing mo­tion-ac­ti­vat­ed seats, wind, fog, rain, light­ing, vi­bra­tions and scents.

The re­sult is that 4DX, go­ing be­yond 3D, adds vi­su­al, au­r­al, ol­fac­to­ry and tac­tile di­men­sions to the film-view­ing ex­pe­ri­ence.

4DX is a con­cept cre­at­ed by the com­pa­ny CJ 4DPLEX from South Ko­rea and on­ly 400 cin­e­mas around the world have this kind of au­di­to­ri­um, in­clud­ing nine in the US and one in Cana­da. Caribbean Cin­e­mas has a to­tal of 492 screens all over the Caribbean and the 4DX screen at South­Park Cin­e­mas will have the ca­pac­i­ty for 108 seats.
