Prime Min­is­ter of Ja­maica An­drew Hol­ness said to­day he wel­comed a CARI­COM Good­will Mis­sion to Ja­maica for a post-Hur­ri­cane Melis­sa tour. He shared the up­date on Face­book.

He said the del­e­ga­tion in­clud­ed the prime min­is­ters of Bar­ba­dos, Guyana, Grena­da and An­tigua, along with rep­re­sen­ta­tives from CARI­COM, the De­vel­op­ment Bank of Latin Amer­i­ca, the World Bank, the In­ter-Amer­i­can De­vel­op­ment Bank and oth­er re­gion­al part­ners.

Hol­ness said Ja­maica ap­pre­ci­at­ed the sol­i­dar­i­ty shown, adding that the vis­it reaf­firmed that the coun­try “does not stand alone”. He said the mis­sion aimed to sup­port re­cov­ery ef­forts through part­ner­ship, uni­ty and shared pur­pose as Ja­maica works to re­build com­mu­ni­ties and strength­en its re­silience to fu­ture chal­lenges.
