The Caribbean Centre for Human Rights (CCHR) has announced Féyi Calliste-Lemessy as its Legal Officer – Savings Law Clause.
Calliste-Lemessy will be based at CCHR’s head office at Plaza de Montrose, Chaguanas.
Her legal career has spanned several roles including Judicial Research Counsel at the Judiciary of T&T where she provided critical legal research and supported judicial officers in drafting judgments. She was also a Legal Consultant across the Caribbean offering legal opinions, preparing court applications, and assisting senior consultants in intellectual property law.
Calliste-Lemessy was also a Garvey-Nkrumah Fellow with AFCA Providers of Global Solutions in the United States where she deepened her knowledge of human rights, international trade, and conflict resolution through global seminars and panel discussions.
Upon the announcement on Monday morning, she stated, "I am honored to join the Caribbean Centre for Human Rights and to contribute to its vital mission. This role aligns with my commitment to advancing human rights and justice throughout our region. I look forward to working closely with the team and stakeholders to create meaningful change."
In a statement on Monday, CCHR extended its gratitude to the Open Society Foundation (OSF) for their "ongoing support."
