Investigations are continuing into the discovery of charred human remains found in a latrine in Maraval yesterday afternoon.
Police are yet to confirm the identity of the victim.
However, responding to a missing persons report filed in the name of 20-year-old Anastacia Waldron, lawmen went to the woman’s address at Clovis Trace, Morne Coco Road, Maraval around 3.45 pm.
Upon arrival, they saw smoke coming from the galvanise outhouse which was located ten feet from the home – and following checks, they discovered the burnt remains.
The District Medical Officer visited the scene and ordered the removal of the remains to the Forensic Science Centre, St James.
Waldron, a customer service representative with the KFC branch in Maraval – was reported missing by a relative around 3.30 pm on July 27.
The relative last saw Waldron on July 24 around 3.45 pm as she left for work, dressed in a monogrammed KFC t-shirt and black pants.
Another relative confirmed receiving a text from Waldron around 1.30 pm on July 26, that she had finished her shift and was at home.
However, calls to her cell phone went unanswered.
