The His­pan­ic Women in T&T has raised US$42,000 to as­sist three sick chil­dren to re­ceive fur­ther treat­ment in the Unit­ed States.

In a press re­lease is­sued yes­ter­day by the or­gan­i­sa­tion, the three chil­dren were iden­ti­fied as Han­nah Bhag­wan­deen, Omari Harp­er and Karine Ram­per­sad. Lit­tle Han­nah pre­vi­ous­ly had a liv­er trans­plant done at the Johns Hop­kins Hos­pi­tal where it was dis­cov­ered she had a hear­ing prob­lem and was now re­quired to do a cor­rec­tive pro­ce­dure. Omari is ex­pect­ed to un­der­go his sec­ond surgery at Jack­son Memo­r­i­al Hos­pi­tal on No­vem­ber 2, 2009. On both oc­ca­sions he re­ceived do­na­tions from the or­gan­i­sa­tion. Karine is ex­pect­ed to leave on Oc­to­ber 26, 2009, for her car­diac cau­ter­i­sa­tion and pos­si­bly her sec­ond surgery.
