The Hispanic Women in T&T has raised US$42,000 to assist three sick children to receive further treatment in the United States.
In a press release issued yesterday by the organisation, the three children were identified as Hannah Bhagwandeen, Omari Harper and Karine Rampersad. Little Hannah previously had a liver transplant done at the Johns Hopkins Hospital where it was discovered she had a hearing problem and was now required to do a corrective procedure. Omari is expected to undergo his second surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital on November 2, 2009. On both occasions he received donations from the organisation. Karine is expected to leave on October 26, 2009, for her cardiac cauterisation and possibly her second surgery.
In both instances the child was also financially supported by the Hispanic Women in T&T.
