The owner of a clothing store in Tobago was shot dead at his home on Tuesday.
Donald Parks is the third person to be murdered for the year.
Police said Parks was shot at his Summer Hill home. He was the owner of Endeavour’s Clothing Store and described as one of the island’s long-standing entrepreneurs.
His body was discovered with gunshot wounds by a relative. Investigators believe the motive might have been robbery.
A neighbour described Parks as hard-working and kind.
He said it was only a “matter of time before the worst happened.”
“The area has been plagued with a number of break-ins and nobody is being held for them. It’s really sad to see it come to this,” he said.
Divisional head of police for Tobago ACP Jeffrey George said he was unable to comment on the incident as preliminary investigations were still underway.
