To­day marks a mo­men­tous mile­stone, the 20th an­niver­sary of CNC3.

On be­half of the Board of Di­rec­tors, man­age­ment and the en­tire Guardian Me­dia fam­i­ly, I ex­tend heart­felt con­grat­u­la­tions to every­one who has con­tributed to CNC3’s re­mark­able jour­ney over the past two decades.

When CNC3 was launched on 26 Sep­tem­ber 2005, it rep­re­sent­ed a bold vi­sion: to bring dy­nam­ic, re­li­able and rel­e­vant tele­vi­sion broad­cast­ing to Trinidad and To­ba­go.

Over these 20 years, CNC3 has ful­filled that vi­sion in every re­spect, earn­ing a place in the dai­ly lives, homes and con­ver­sa­tions of our peo­ple.

In a me­dia land­scape that has un­der­gone rapid change, CNC3 has con­sis­tent­ly adapt­ed and in­no­vat­ed, weath­er­ing new tech­nolo­gies, evolv­ing view­er habits and shift­ing glob­al trends, with­out ever los­ing sight of its core pur­pose: serv­ing the pub­lic in­ter­est.

From hard news and cur­rent af­fairs to sports, en­ter­tain­ment, lo­cal con­tent and be­yond, CNC3 has demon­strat­ed not on­ly jour­nal­is­tic in­tegri­ty but al­so a deep un­der­stand­ing of, and re­spect for, the com­mu­ni­ties it serves.

I pay trib­ute to the many in­di­vid­u­als whose ded­i­ca­tion, cre­ativ­i­ty, pro­fes­sion­al­ism and courage have made CNC3 what it is to­day – from the on-air tal­ent, pro­duc­ers, jour­nal­ists and tech­ni­cal staff, to the be­hind-the-scenes teams who en­sure that every broad­cast day hap­pens with­out fail. Each role, each con­tri­bu­tion, no mat­ter how vis­i­ble, has been vi­tal.

I al­so wish to ac­knowl­edge the loy­al­ty of our view­ers, sup­port­ers and ad­ver­tis­ers. With­out your trust, feed­back and en­gage­ment, CNC3’s work would mean far less. Your voic­es have shaped our pro­gram­ming and your crit­i­cisms have sharp­ened our pur­pose.

Look­ing ahead, the me­dia en­vi­ron­ment will con­tin­ue to evolve, pre­sent­ing both chal­lenges and op­por­tu­ni­ties. We are com­mit­ted to ris­ing to those chal­lenges to en­sure that CNC3 re­mains a leader in broad­cast ex­cel­lence in Trinidad and To­ba­go.

As we cel­e­brate this 20-year land­mark, let us re­mem­ber that this is not sim­ply an oc­ca­sion for re­flec­tion, but a launch­ing point for re­newed com­mit­ment. CNC3’s next 20 years can be even more im­pact­ful than the last. We look for­ward to con­tin­u­ing the jour­ney to­geth­er, with the same spir­it of pur­pose, in­no­va­tion and ser­vice that has de­fined us from the be­gin­ning.
