Officers of the North-Eastern Division Task Force seized a quantity of suspected cocaine and arrested a man during a targeted drug block operation in Morvant on Saturday.
The exercise, which ran from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, covered the Morvant and San Juan districts and was led by W/Ag/Snr Superintendent Guy-Alleyne, Superintendent Birch, and Ag/ASP Callender. It was coordinated by Ag/Inspector Ramsingh and Sgt Martin, with supervision by Cpl Daniel.
In Morvant, officers observed a group near a shop along Laventille Extension Road, Never Dirty.
A search led to the discovery of 55 foil-wrapped packages of cream-coloured rock-like substances resembling cocaine, weighing 22.2 grammes, on a 28-year-old man from Angelina Terrace, Never Dirty.
The exhibit was recovered by PC Wallace.
The man was arrested and taken to the San Juan Police Sub Station, where the cocaine was processed.
