A Cocorite man, who had only returned to the country last week after spending time abroad with relatives, was killed by gunmen on Wednesday night as he got ready for bed.
Jelani “Jello” Worrell was gunned down around 2 am on January 25, at Ratchet Hill.
The 38-year-old painter was at home alone when residents reported hearing a single gunshot, on Wednesday night. The victim’s body was found by his 46-year old cousin who went to check on him after being unable to reach him all day. He was lying in a pool of blood, clad only in a pair of boxers and appeared to have been shot in the head.
This killing, along with another fatal shooting in Debe, pushed the murder toll to 45 for the year so far.
