Cops find guns, ammo at murdered Maraval man's funeral

Po­lice seized three guns and ar­rest­ed one man dur­ing the fu­ner­al of mur­dered Mar­aval man Arkim Quashie.

Of­fi­cers of the West­ern Di­vi­sion said they re­ceived in­for­ma­tion that sev­er­al mourn­ers were seen at­tend­ing the fu­ner­al at Quashie's home on Nicholas Street, Mar­aval, on Fri­day af­ter­noon.

They co­or­di­nat­ed an ex­er­cise in­volv­ing Ce­les­tine Trace, Faus­tine Trace and Nicholas Street.

On ar­rival, of­fi­cers saw sev­er­al men run­ning with guns.

They ar­rest­ed a 22-year-old man car­ry­ing a Glock pis­tol with three rounds of 9 mm am­mu­ni­tion.

Po­lice searched a track and found a Glock 19 pis­tol with 15 rounds of am­mu­ni­tion hid­den be­neath a pile of leaves, as well as an as­sault ri­fle with 19 rounds of 7.62 am­mu­ni­tion and an ex­tend­ed mag­a­zine with six rounds of 9 mm am­mu­ni­tion in a wa­ter tank.

Quashie, al­so known as Sours, was killed mo­ments af­ter ar­riv­ing at Pi­ar­co In­ter­na­tion­al Air­port from Pana­ma ear­ly on the morn­ing of 17 April.
