A man and a woman caught stealing cables from Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT), were among six people arrested for various offences during anti-crime exercises conducted this week in the Southern Division.
According to reports, officers of the San Fernando Crime Patrol were conducting an exercise along Cipero Street, when they observed two suspects placing cables belonging to TSTT into the trunk of a motor vehicle.
Investigations revealed that the cables were estimated to be valued at TT$22,414.23.
The suspects—a 27-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman, both of Cunupia—were arrested in connection with the matter and are expected to appear before a San Fernando High Court magistrate, on Monday 14 July 2024, charged with larceny.
Meanwhile, a roadblock and warrant exercise carried out between 6 am and 4 pm on Saturday (July 12, 2025) by officers of the Barrackpore Police Station.
The TTPS has confirmed that during the exercise, four people were arrested for various offences:
● A 39-year-old labourer of Princes Town for kidnapping
● A 45-year-old farmer of Barrackpore for breach of protection order
● A 19-year-old labourer for attempted murder
● A 33-year-old of Rio Claro on a TAC warrant
The operation was coordinated by Supt. Rajkumar, ASP Bhandan and Insp. Ragbir.
