Investigations are continuing into the death of a Belmont woman after she reportedly fell from a precipice behind her house.
The body of Shirlyn Rampersad, 70, was discovered around 2 pm on Christmas Day by her 72-year-old husband.
The couple, who live apart, maintain cordial relations.
Police said the husband went to drop off food for Rampersad and made checks around the property after he found the house empty.
She was discovered lying in a foetal position behind a wooden structure.
Clad in a black and white striped blouse and a black and white skirt, the elderly woman was found with a wound to the back of the head. Police have so far classified the incident as an unnatural death.
Investigators have indicated that they will wait on the autopsy findings before making any further pronouncements.- Anna-Lisa Paul
