Cops probe report of $325,000 stolen from DSS agents

A ban­dit has al­leged­ly robbed two mem­bers of staff of the Drugs Sou Sou (DSS) of $325,000 in cash that they were car­ry­ing in a duf­fle bag on Thurs­day evening.

Den­isha Ramirez, 32, of Cir­cu­lar Road, Pey­tonville, a nurse as­signed to the North Cen­tral Re­gion­al Health Au­thor­i­ty and a book­keep­er for DSS, told po­lice that around 6.30 pm she and her broth­er, Ver­non Ramirez, 34, of Nuts Dri­ve, Race Course Road, Cara­po, Ari­ma, were leav­ing the Trinci­ty Mall when they were ap­proached by a man who snatched the black duf­fle bag from them.

The mon­ey, po­lice said, was col­lect­ed for the DSS. 

Ver­non told po­lice he at­tempt­ed to fight off the thief but that the as­sailant man­aged to es­cape in a wait­ing ve­hi­cle.
