A mem­ber of the Trinidad and To­ba­go Reg­i­ment is among two men cur­rent­ly as­sist­ing of­fi­cers of the North-East­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force (NEDTF) with their in­ves­ti­ga­tions in­to the seizure of three firearms and an as­sort­ment of am­mu­ni­tion.

The men, ages 37 and 39 years re­spec­tive­ly, were ar­rest­ed fol­low­ing an in­tel­li­gence-led op­er­a­tion on Sat­ur­day 10th Oc­to­ber 2020, in which sev­er­al search war­rants were ex­e­cut­ed in the Coun­cil­man Cir­cu­lar, Up­per Sev­enth Av­enue, Mal­ick area.

Ac­cord­ing to of­fi­cial po­lice re­ports, po­lice of­fi­cers pro­ceed­ed to search a bushy area to the back of a home of one of the sus­pects.

There, they al­leged­ly found two Glock 17 pis­tols with au­to­mat­ic se­lec­tors, one home­made shot­gun, three ri­fle mag­a­zines, 34 rounds of 5.56 am­mu­ni­tion, 20 rounds of 9 mm am­mu­ni­tion, and three ski masks.

The items were seized and tak­en for foren­sic pro­cess­ing.

The two men were im­me­di­ate­ly ar­rest­ed pend­ing fur­ther en­quiries.
