Po­lice are rul­ing out foul play in the death of a two-day-old ba­by boy from Erin.

Of­fi­cers said ba­by Fabion Mai­son was brought to the Point Fortin Hos­pi­tal by his dis­traught par­ents, un­re­spon­sive on Mon­day night. Sev­er­al at­tempts by med­ical per­son­nel to re­sus­ci­tate him were fu­tile.

Ba­by Fabion was born on Sat­ur­day. His 22-year-old moth­er told po­lice that around 8.50 pm, he was alive and ly­ing in a crib in her bed­room. How­ev­er, just two min­utes lat­er, when she at­tempt­ed to breast­feed him, she no­ticed that he was not re­spond­ing.

The moth­er, along with the ba­by’s fa­ther, rushed him to the area hos­pi­tal, where all ef­forts to re­vive him were un­suc­cess­ful. He was pro­nounced dead around 10.20 pm.

Po­lice said, based on de­tails pro­vid­ed by med­ical staff, there were no marks of vi­o­lence on ba­by Fabion’s body.
