Police are ruling out foul play in the death of a two-day-old baby boy from Erin.
Officers said baby Fabion Maison was brought to the Point Fortin Hospital by his distraught parents, unresponsive on Monday night. Several attempts by medical personnel to resuscitate him were futile.
Baby Fabion was born on Saturday. His 22-year-old mother told police that around 8.50 pm, he was alive and lying in a crib in her bedroom. However, just two minutes later, when she attempted to breastfeed him, she noticed that he was not responding.
The mother, along with the baby’s father, rushed him to the area hospital, where all efforts to revive him were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead around 10.20 pm.
Police said, based on details provided by medical staff, there were no marks of violence on baby Fabion’s body.
WPC Louison is investigating.
