A rov­ing road­block ex­er­cise in the North Cen­tral Di­vi­sion and an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise in the West­ern Di­vi­sion, both con­duct­ed yes­ter­day, re­sult­ed in the seizure of a firearm, am­mu­ni­tion, and drugs.

Be­tween the hours of 5 pm on De­cem­ber 10th and 3 am on De­cem­ber 11th, 2022, of­fi­cers of the West­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force ex­e­cut­ed a search war­rant at a home lo­cat­ed on Dil­lon Street, Diego Mar­tin.

Of­fi­cers al­leged­ly dis­cov­ered a brown-coloured han­dle bag con­tain­ing six plas­tic-wrapped pack­ages con­tain­ing 3,207 grammes of mar­i­jua­na as well as four rounds of .40 cal­i­bre am­mu­ni­tion in the ceil­ing of a bed­room.

Around 9:30 pm of­fi­cers of the North Cen­tral Di­vi­sion Task Force – Area East, while pro­ceed­ing north along Lopinot Road, ob­served a man with a black bag in his hand walk­ing along the road­way.

The man, up­on see­ing the of­fi­cers, al­leged­ly dropped the bag and ran in­to a bushy area near­by and es­caped. Of­fi­cers re­trieved the bag and al­leged­ly dis­cov­ered a firearm and three rounds of 12-gauge am­mu­ni­tion in it.
