A roving roadblock exercise in the North Central Division and an anti-crime exercise in the Western Division, both conducted yesterday, resulted in the seizure of a firearm, ammunition, and drugs.
Between the hours of 5 pm on December 10th and 3 am on December 11th, 2022, officers of the Western Division Task Force executed a search warrant at a home located on Dillon Street, Diego Martin.
Officers allegedly discovered a brown-coloured handle bag containing six plastic-wrapped packages containing 3,207 grammes of marijuana as well as four rounds of .40 calibre ammunition in the ceiling of a bedroom.
Around 9:30 pm officers of the North Central Division Task Force – Area East, while proceeding north along Lopinot Road, observed a man with a black bag in his hand walking along the roadway.
The man, upon seeing the officers, allegedly dropped the bag and ran into a bushy area nearby and escaped. Officers retrieved the bag and allegedly discovered a firearm and three rounds of 12-gauge ammunition in it.
Enquiries into both incidents are ongoing.
