Homicide detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the body of a man, who was found in Wallerfield on Saturday.
According to reports, the body was discovered by residents of Amazon Road in Wallerfield around 9 am on Saturday.
Homicide detectives who responded to the report, observed that the victim, who had several lacerations on the back of his legs, had duck-tape over his mouth.
The victim, who is of mixed descent, of medium built and is five feet, five inches tall, was dressed in a black T-shirt, a blue three quarter pants and a pair of multi-coloured Jordan shoes.
The victim was pronounced dead on the scene by a District Medical Officer (DMO), who ordered that the body be moved to Forensic Science Centre in St James, where an autopsy will be performed once he is identified by relatives and is tested for Covid-19.
Meanwhile, police are investigating two shootings in which three men were wounded on Sunday.
The first incident occurred in Maracas/St Joseph around 2.45 pm on Sunday.
According to reports, 21-year-old Antonio Edwards, of Spring Village, Valsayn, 28-year-old Christopher Welsh, of Knowles Street, Curepe, and Motilal Sam, 58, of Ali Street, Curepe, went to Lluengo Village, Maracas/St Joseph to purchase coconuts to sell.
The three men were in a truck and were driving along Maracas Royal Road when they were ambushed by three gunman near Castillo Trace and shot at.
The men drove to the St Joseph Police Station where they reported the incident.
Edwards and Welsh, who were shot on their arms, and Sam, who sustained minor cuts from broken glass, then went to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope for treatment.
Investigators returned to the scene of the shooting and recovered 12 spent shells but made no arrests.
The second shooting occurred several hours later at Malabar, Arima.
The victim, Jerel Beddoe, was liming with friends at Subero Street, when a silver Nissan B14 pulled alongside them.
Two men exited the vehicle and shot at the group several times before returning to car and driving away.
Beddoe, who was attempting to evade the gunmen by running away, was shot on both his legs. His friends managed to escape unscathed.
Beddoe was taken to the Arima District Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, A 17-old salesman who was shot on Saturday in Sangra Grande while conducting sales has died.
Omarie Ramdath succumbed to his injuries on Monday at the Sangre Grande Hospital.He was shot to the back of his head.
According to police report, around 12.45 pm on Saturday Ramdath of Cedar Wood Drive, North Eastern Settlement, was conducting sales at LA Foods at the corner of LA Drive and Ojoe Road, North Eastern Settlement when he was shot by a man.
After the shooting, the man then entered a Nissan AD Wagon and drove off.
