The Job Evaluation Exercise in the civil service, including the Tobago House of Assembly and Statutory Authorities, subject to the Statutory Authorities Act, Chapter 24:01 entered the fourth Phase since commencing on July 1, 2020.
In a statement Chief Personnel Officer Dr Daryl Dindial said the Personnel Department, the Consultant PwC, and the Public Services Association continue their work in this critical stage of the project, to ultimately enable recommendations to be submitted for the consideration of the Cabinet.
Dindial said it is a significant phase of the Job Evaluation Exercise as it seeks to score the job positions based on the Job Evaluation Methodology to determine their ranking, relative to the other positions under review.
He also said that the Compensation and Market Survey exercise commenced in September 2022 and is expected to be completed in March 2023. He noted that approximately 50 per cent of the Market Survey has been completed.
He also acknowledged the project’s gradual progression and noted that the PwC and the Personnel Department have completed a number of key activities and deliverables throughout the first three Phases of the project.
In its current phase, the Job Evaluation of approximately 1600 job positions is expected to be completed by July 2023 with the Public Services Association playing an active and critical role in the evaluation of the job positions.
The CPO underscores the critical role of this exercise, as it supports the modernisation of the Civil Service and the improvement of service delivery to all stakeholders, and reiterates the Government’s commitment to achieving this goal.
