The Cuban gov­ern­ment has con­grat­u­lat­ed Prime Min­is­ter-elect Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar. In a con­grat­u­la­to­ry post so­cial me­dia plat­form X (for­mer­ly Twit­ter), Pres­i­dent of Cu­ba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, wrote, “We ex­press the will to #Cu­ba to con­tin­ue strength­en­ing bi­lat­er­al re­la­tions and co­op­er­a­tion with Trinidad and To­ba­go.”

His for­eign min­is­ter al­so took to so­cial me­dia, say­ing, “We con­grat­u­late the Prime Min­is­ter-elect of Trinidad and To­ba­go, Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar, on her vic­to­ry in the elec­tions of 28 April. We re­it­er­ate our will­ing­ness to deep­en bi­lat­er­al re­la­tions and co­op­er­a­tion be­tween our peo­ples and gov­ern­ments.”

Per­sad-Bisses­sar stormed to a com­pre­hen­sive vic­to­ry in Mon­day’s Gen­er­al Elec­tion with the UNC win­ning 26 seats, the PNM win­ning 13 seats and the TPP tak­ing the two To­ba­go seats.
